Over the past few weeks, SMART CRC CEO Prof. Simon Cool and COO Dr Sarah Costanzo have been on the road, connecting with partners across Australia to strengthen relationships, explore collaborative opportunities, and prepare for full program delivery.
Their journey began in Adelaide, where they were joined by Chair Dr Leanna Read and Research Director Prof. Allison Cowin for meetings with the Department of State Development, University of Adelaide, University of South Australia, and AusHealth. These conversations focused on long-term engagement pathways, research capabilities, and opportunities for collaboration and translation in regenerative medicine.
In Melbourne, the leadership team connected with RMIT University, Cytiva, CSL, CCRM Australia, TrialScreen, Celleo Biotech, and EB Research Partnership (Australia), gaining valuable insights around innovation, commercialisation, and shared goals for advancing the sector.
Last week, the leadership team continued their travels with a visit to Bond University on the Gold Coast, followed by a series of meetings in Sydney with Therapeutic Innovation Australia, CRYOPDP, Culturon®, Smart MCs, and Endexome. These engagements centred on early-stage project ideation and streamlining collaboration processes to support smooth delivery once projects are live.
We’re very grateful to all of our partners for their time, insights, and commitment to advancing the regenerative therapies sector in Australia.
Stay tuned – the engagement continues this week as CEO Prof. Simon Cool travels to the UK for further international discussions to expand SMART CRC’s collaborative reach.
