The SMART CRC is an established not-for-profit (NFP) company limited by guarantee, governed by a skills-based, independent board. The CRC is proud to have Dr Leanna Read serving as Chair of the Board, bringing extensive leadership experience and strategic insight to the Centre.
The 10-year Centre is headquartered at The University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. SMART CRC delivers industry-led programs of research, where industry partners define challenges and collaborate with leading researchers to co-develop solutions that are both commercially and clinically viable.
Robust confidentiality protocols are in place to protect proprietary information. Industry partners retain control over how and when their information is shared with other CRC participants and the public.
The SMART CRC prioritises commercialisation, supporting project teams to define, protect, and manage intellectual property, ensuring research outcomes are translated into real-world impact.
