Connecting Capability: Highlights from the first SMART CRC Quarterly Showcase

What an incredible day for the SMART CRC community.

This week we hosted our New South Wales Showcase at UNSW Sydney, bringing together partners from across research, industry and government for a day of connection, insight and genuine collaboration.

A huge thank you to Jelena Rnjak-Kovacina and UNSW for hosting us and for the generosity of your team in supporting the delivery of this event. Your leadership in biomaterials, genomics and bio manufacturing was proudly on display.

To all of our partners who took to the podium, thank you for sharing your expertise and the deep capability that is helping shape the future of Australia’s regenerative therapy manufacturing sector.

These included contributions from:

– Prof. Jelena Rnjak-Kovacina, A/Prof. Christopher Marquis, A/Prof. Martin Smith – UNSW

– Prof. Antoine van Oijen, Prof. Wojciech Chrzanowski, Prof. Marcela BilekUniversity of Sydney

Thank you also to our partners who joined us on the day, your engagement, questions and ideas are what bring these showcases to life. The SMART CRC exists to connect capability with opportunity, and this event was a clear demonstration of what is possible when the ecosystem comes together with purpose.

We look forward to continuing these conversations as we prepare for our next interstate Showcase happening in Melbourne, in March of 2026.

Here’s to building a stronger, more connected national ecosystem for regenerative therapies.
