A message from our CEO, Simon Cool, representing the SMART CRC at a key event in Melbourne last week.
It was a great honour to represent the SMART CRC at the Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute (ARMI) Ambassador Dinner, held at The Lyceum in Melbourne.
A heartfelt thank you to Prof. Pete Currie and Dr Marguerite Evans-Galea AM for the kind invitation to this inspiring evening showcasing Australia’s leadership in regenerative medicine research and translation.
It was a privilege to meet The Hon Dr Kay Patterson AO, former Senator for Victoria and a distinguished leader who has made significant contributions in key ministerial roles in Health and Ageing, Family and Community Services, and Women’s Issues.
I was also delighted to connect with Professor Christina Mitchell AO, Executive Dean of Monash Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, and Professor Alan Trounson, CEO and President of Cartherics Pty Ltd, as well as Bev Menner, CEO of Cell Therapies Pty Ltd, to discuss opportunities for collaboration and global engagement across the sector.
The evening highlighted how pioneering regenerative medicine discoveries are translating into clinical advances that change patients’ lives. It’s inspiring to be part of such a vibrant and visionary community driving the future of regenerative therapies in Australia.
